I think my 13th birthday cake had KISS written on it. I was so smitten by that group. Never went to see them, but always remember that birthday when I hear their songs. Plus now, I also recognize the guitar work that I missed as a kid.

Green Day, the whole CD is pretty good really. Nice.

The Police/Sting write so many songs that are contradictory!

Also, you have no idea, unless you've seen them, what kind of stage presence Sting has! I was completely unprepared for that.

Time Bomb, is that more of the Southern California guitar style? I've forgotten what it's called?

and Black Velvet was about Elvis, 1950s Elvis.

no, but oddly enough, I love Westbury
It has great sound system there and great sightlines from anywhere
Don't get out there that much as it is a PITA to drive there from NJ, used to go alot more years ago
Saw Roy Orbinson there for one and saw two Christmas shows there I am happy to have seen
Andy Williams who can still hit the notes

and saw the last NY appearance of Perry Como of all people (shh, don't tell anyone)...he was already a little too old he wandered a little.

Used to go with friends to see alot of country shows out there
Don Williams would play there every year

Saw Waylon Jennings with opening act Steve Earle there, etc.

I would love to have seen Andy Williams...his version of Maria from West Side Story is one of the best renderings of any song I have ever heard...

And Roy Orbison's voice is the male version of Aretha Franklin's I think...the depth and richness...the clarity and strength one minute and the soft sweetness the next...

Wow...

It has a nice beat, but G, it sure seems like he could have put in some other lyrics and varied the beat? But, he does capture his Dad's sound doesn't he. I'm sorry to hear that about the real "Lucy". That was a great song but I was sure it was inspired by serious psychedelics.

Oh that is really beautiful! The video on the first one reminded me of all the places I've been in this country (looking for birds mostly), and then I thought you live out there in the west don't you? The sweetest sounds match the sweetest places in this country and the birds songs in the background kinda make that point.

The second one was even better for sound, but I give that an A+ for talent! I wonder how or why you would learn to play two flutes at the same time. I guess it's kinda like "if you want something done right, do it yourself". Anyway, beauty and talent rolled into one there.

Thank you for your offering of song, and I hope you come back and share some more with us here.

Taz is going to love these two songs.

I think Amazing Grace and Ave Maria are my favorite (hymnal) Christian? Not sure....Liturgical maybe....anyway they are my two favorites.

This is the one place everyone feels the same way you do about music! No matter how heated our debates, this is a place where music is our universal. We play every kind of music here, though Graham likes more country and Taz likes more 80's and I don't think I could describe what I like but I grew up in the 80's like Taz, though the 90's probably holds my attention more. There's no limits on what music you can find in here on any given day.

This song was released on March 19 2003 - the day America dropped bombs on innocent Iraqis based on lies, lies and more lies. I will never forget the deep sense of shame I felt that day - and continue to feel because we, the outsiders, could not stop it from happening.

Thank you REM for turning the ultimate ugliness into a beautiful call to action.
